This weekend Will Smith’s new movie The Pursuit of Happyness (and his possible Oscar nod) hits theaters nationwide. One of the must sees of the year, which we’ll get at on Monday. That’s another $20 mil in the Smith family bank account. Or is that 19 mil?

On Dec. 7th, Jada Pinkett wrote a $1 million check from the Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation to her high school ala-mater The Baltimore School for the Arts. It’s the second donation the Smith Foundation have given the school.

They previously donated $112,500, impressed with the advances the school has made since her graduation and the continued improvement the $1 million dollar check was signed and delivered.

The new money will be used to finance the construction of a theatre, which the school wanted to name after Jada Pinkett, but she requested that they name it after Tupac Shakur. The Baltimore School for the Arts is where Jada and Tupac met and became good friends.

Don’t know if the school will follow through with her request. There are confilicting statements, like they really wanted to name it after Jada Pinkett. I’m guessing they comply with her wish. Put it in lower-case if you have to, free money doesn’t come in the mail every day.

Donald Hicken, head of the school’s theater department said..

“It means a lot when you’re a teacher and your most famous alumnus comes back to give a donation. It really says a lot to the community that the school matters in people’s lives.”
