For starters, this is my first Mya album. I really wasn't feeling the whole it's all about me I'm a diva bitch kinda thing when she first came out. It got a little better on Fear of Flying. The production was better, the subject matter, the singing…well…the singing was pretty much the same, but "Case of the Ex" carried that whole album by itself. On Moodring, she brings it though. This is chick is straight gangsta on this one.
The subject matter is off the chain as far as things that most people don't really talk about: "Why You Gotta Look So Good?," "Late," "Whatever Bitch," "Sophisticated Lady," etc. her voice has grown and gotten so much better (even since "Lady Marmalade,") and judging by the video for "Wo," the girl's been working real hard. more..

No doubt, because of how much time and effort she put into it, it should be. It's just that I don't sense realness in it. I wanted there to be something off key somewhere, or some dead space somewhere, but there is none. Instead we get a flawless album.
It's weird to not like a perfect CD, but this one, I had to stop listening to it after a while cuz it started to make me sick. I mean, besides the fact that the whole album was leaked onto Kazaa and Winmx almost a month and a half before the release date, I probably should be sick of it.
As far as the bonus track "Real Compared to What", let's talk about this one. Before this track comes on, she makes a little speech thanking everyone for buying the album. Then she introduces this song letting us know that it really has nothing to do with the album, but they made me put it on here or something like that (I'm paraphrasing). Why would they do that? It's a commercial. That's like asking Beyonce to put her Pepsi Commercial song on her album. Pointless.
Nevertheless, this is a dope album. A little too dope, but dope. If you like Fear of Flying, you will definitely love this one.
