R. Kelly

Last night singer R. Kelly was on Primetime on ABC. I didn't catch much of the interview, because I didn't feel that I would get any new information out of R. Kelly. Honestly. He's been interviewed I don't know how many times, and it's the same story each time. He is not a child molester. He is a child of God. He is a victim. He is always stammering and tap dancing around the questions. Frankly, it's sickening and I'm sick to death of hearing it.

I was wrong about him not sharing any new information. He did admit that he loved then 15-year-old Aaliyah. But that wasn't really new information. He did marry the little girl, so he must have felt something for her. It was the first time he actually decided to speak on Aaliyah. I respect him not delving further into their situation, because it was something she never spoke on when she was alive. At the same time, it appears that his silence on the Aaliyah situation is more out of not incriminating himself than actual respect for her. At this point I think he needs to let interviewers know not to even ask about Aaliyah. I'd rather not even hear the question posed, than hear him stuttering and saying he can't talk about her because she is not around to defend herself.

I don't expect R. Kelly to get on national television and say that he rapes young girls in his spare time, but playing the victim is getting quite old. He has a problem. The sooner he admits it, the better off he'll be. He's probably somewhere trying to holla at a 14-year-old girl as this very moment.

R. Kelly also admitted that he wished he could have married his mother. That has got to be the most absurd thing I've heard all year. It's common for young children, and I do mean young, to have crushes on their mother and even want to marry them. Electra complexes, the sibling to the Oedipus complex is not new. It's pretty damn common for, oh let's say 6-year-olds. Oh, but for a 30 something, grown ass man to admit that to another grown ass man in front of the national media is crazy. Sheer lunacy. There is nothing normal about him thinking that he should've married his mother and wishing that he could have. He's certifiable and he needs to be seeking some sort of professional help.

I am not R. Kelly's judge and jury, but I am convinced that he is guilty on all counts that he is being charged and he needs to be held accountable for his actions. He also needs to some professional psychiatric help, because whatever is causing him to have this obsession with pre-teen girls is an illness and needs to be treated accordingly.

Beyonce
Last week it was reported that Beyonce Knowles, lead singer of R&B trio Destiny's Child, tore her hamstring while rehearsing for the group's new video. This week Beyonce seems to be on the mend and credits tennis pro Serena Williams for her speedy recovery.

Beyonce spoke to MTV and told them, "Kelly Rowland is friends with Serena Williams, and she hooked us up with her doctor and I'm doing very, very well." Beyonce, who is healing at a faster than expected rate explained, "We were dancing, trying to get ready for the video, and I got a little carried away and excited and pulled my hamstring, actually 20 percent of my hamstring. I thought it was actually worse than it is. The first day I couldn't walk, but ... I have a great doctor and I'm working out very hard every day with my athletic trainer."

The filming of the video was postponed indefinitely, but due to Beyonce's bounce back ability, they have already begun shooting the video. The single is for Destiny's Child's latest single, "Lose My Breath." In other Destiny's Child happenings, the group has signed a deal with fast food chain McDonald's and plans to do promotional work for the chain.

Glad to hear that Beyonce is coming along nicely with her rehabilitation. At the same time, I could do without the video. I think that song is horrendous. Just more garbage to add to the other garbage on urban radio. Beyonce explained that the video is one where they are doing three different complicated dance routines. I was really glad that she cleared that up, because I was baffled at how she could tear a hamstring doing the Destiny's Child two step.

The McDonald's thing is huge. I'm always talking about Kelly and Michelle being Beyonce's back up dancer's, but Beyonce really does open a lot of doors for those two girls. Without her they are pretty obscure and if she so chooses they can be obsolete. I'm sure McDonald's would have taken Beyonce by herself and the executives at McDonald's may still be wondering who the hell Kelly and Michelle are. Either way it's a good look for them, I mean it's freakin' McDonalds.

Ghetto Wedding
New Orleans rapper Juvenile, whose real name is Terius Gray, married Shadonna Jones, a nurse from St. Louis. According to a local New Orleans paper, the festivities were extra ghetto, starting with the ceremony being over 2 hours late due to Shadonna's primping. When she didn't arrive at the church at a reasonable hour, Juvie and his boys ordered Popeye's and sat and ate it at the church while they awaited her arrival.
In keeping with the ghetto theme, the couple sported a gaudy amount of diamond jewelry. So much so that the minister presiding over the ceremony made a reference to all the "bling at the altar."

In contrast to the wedding, the reception was said to be a really classy affair. Juvenile, who wore a mustard colored suit to his wedding, gave Shadonna 25 acres of land where they will build a home as a wedding gift. Could anyone expect anything different from a Cash Money Millionaire? That is really ghetto. I love ghetto wedding stories. They are hilarious. This is probably mild in comparison to what the weddings of the other Cash Money guys will be like.

Anyway, congrats to Shadonna and Juvie. If anyone thinks I am lying about that mustard colored suit, here are the pictures to substantiate the story.

Anthony Anderson Rape Charges Dropped
Two months ago, actor Anthony Anderson was arrested and charged with rape. An extra on the set of a movie he was filming called "Hustle and Flow" accused the star and the assistant director of raping her. A judge has since thrown the case out of court calling the so called victim's testimony "suspicious and bizarre." Charges were dropped against both Anderson and his co-defendant Wayne Witherspoon.

I am glad that this is over and done with. I am the biggest Anthony Anderson fan and do not want him raping groupies. At the same time, when are these scandalous ass women going to stop accusing celebrities, pseudo-celebrities and friends of celebrities of rape, just to get money. These silly bitches need jobs. They would have time to go to a real job, were they not so busy running after these athletes, actors and others. It's really despicable and it's not funny. If these women are that hard up for money, they need to use the creativity they expend concocting rape stories to do something productive and conducive to earning their own salaries.

Usher's Birthday Surprise
Rumors have been floating around that Mr. Entertainment, commonly known as Usher, and supermodel Naomi Campbell are an item. The two have been seen out and about in public and sources claim they are so in love. Usher will soon be celebrating his 26th birthday and 34-year-old Naomi is throwing him a birthday party at New York City's Rainbow Room. This impending soiree, which is set to take place this Saturday, seems to add a sense of validity to the allegations that the two are dating. People magazine reports that Naomi plans to pop out of a cake for her man.

Damn, what ever happened to Usher and Chilli reuniting? He really does like his women mature.

Lebron James
The Akron Beacon reports that Lebron James and his old longtime girlfriend became the parents of a baby boy on Wednesday October 6. It was rumored that there was a local girl pregnant by James, but he declined commentary when questioned. Now that the baby is born Lebron is talking and says, "I'm excited about it. It's a wonderful opportunity in life." On being a dad, he says, "That's my main goal, to try and be a better father than the one I had. I didn't know him. I didn't know the situation he was in. But I'm going to do my job the best way I can."

Congratulations to young Lebron and young Lebron's baby's mama. Hopefully, for the sake of young Prince James, these two 19-year-olds will be great parents.

Not Jenny From The Block
Singer/actress/serial wife, Jennifer Lopez no longer wants to be known as Jenny from the Block. Rumor has it that Jenny is trying to get VH-1 and MTV to stop airing the video for her song "Jenny From The Block" permanently. The video features Jenny and her then fiance, actor Ben Affleck, looking awfully cozy and in love. Jen does not want the video ever in rotation on either channel. It's alleged that her husband Mark Anthony gets jealous when he sees Jen and Ben in the video together.

Jennifer Lopez has been awfully quiet since marrying Mark Anthony. She's not all over television and/or radio. The paparazzi seem less than interested in capturing her and Mark while they do every day things. Just when she has a new movie coming out she starts up this nonsense. Whether the rumor is true or false, it's probably some nonsense started by J-Lo's camp. She shouldn't have done the video if it's such a big deal. She knows her own track record with men and she should've known she and Ben were not going to make it. She probably doesn't want to people to refer to her as Jenny from the block anymore, but guess what? That's too bad for her. She was always pushing that "Ooh, I'm such a homegirl, I'm from the Bronx." Now she's stuck with the image she not only created, but force fed anyone who would listen to her drone on about being such a simple girl from the gutter.

I truly hope Mark Anthony isn't really as disturbed by this video as he is being made out to be. This is a woman that is on her 12th husband in two years and he's a little uneasy about a video with one of her almost husbands? Hopefully, he knows better.
