In advance of his new album “RevolveR,” T-Pain just debuted a video for the first single “5 O’Clock.” The song is a new direction for T-Pain; this is not I’m in love with a stripper, or maybe it is.

When the video begins, T-Pain is at a party. He gets a text, jumps up and spends the next three minutes looking disturbed as he walks through the late night, city streets, en route to the apartment of the unidentified female texter.

It looks like it’s Lily Allen; who also sings the chorus.

“It’s 5 o’clock in the morning. Conversation got boring. You said you’d go into bed soon. So I snuck off to your bedroom. And I thought I’d just wait there.”

Later, T-Pain mentions their conversation included some kind of ultimatum about getting out of the club or else. Is that when the conversation got boring or he became concerned?

Reading the lyrics again, I’d say Lily Allen is at T-Pain’s apartment and he’s on his way home from the club. In any case, it’s a nice creative twist.

Wiz Khalifa also makes an appearance/drops some verbals.

T-Pain hasn’t released a solo record since Jay-Z’s “D.O.A.”,  but in a July interview with BIllboard, T-Pain said he’s done with Auto-Tune and will be incorporating a new customized computer sound that he calls the “T-Pain Effect.”

If this song features the “T-Pain Effect” it’s nothing but Auto-Tune with the levels turned to five and three. This song is cool, though. Take a look/listen.
